The quantitative researcher is primarily responsible for big data analytics – summarizing findings and making logical deductions to further improve trading processes or explore new market opportunities. Your quantitative background coupled with the market experience of the trading team will help enhance the overall portfolio performance of the firm. Although not necessary, hands on programming experience in Python, R, MATLAB or SQL will be extremely advantageous.
Junior traders will undergo two intensive months of our trainee trader programme which consists of theoretical learning through projects, experience virtual trading on simulators and review sessions with the senior traders. Upon successful graduation, junior trader will be trained to successfully be incepted into the core trading team. You should essentially have a passion for trading and financial markets while possessing a high level of motivation, discipline and competitiveness. You should also be equipped with a keen mathematical mind and strong analytical skills. Prior experience in competitive gaming or sports are an added advantage. No prior trading experience is required, just the openness and willingness to learn.
Working with the trading team, the technologists play an integral role in keeping us technologically ahead of the game ensuring that our trading infrastructure is up-to date, robust and operating at its highest level. You should have strong enthusiasm for programming and solid computer science fundamentals. By integrating sophisticated coding techniques with innovative engineering ideas, the technologists design and optimize systems that can process massive amounts of data while still ensuring high performance and stability.
